Paper Tissue Softness Rating by Acoustic Emission Analysis

نویسندگان

چکیده

Softness is one of the essential properties hygiene tissue products. Reliably measuring it utmost importance to ensure balance between customer expectations and cost-effective production. This study presents a method for assessing softness by analyzing acoustic emissions produced while tearing specimen. The aim was train neural network models using corrected results human panel tests as ground truth labels predict in two- three-class recognition tasks. We also investigate possibility predicting some production parameters related property. proved that could be reliably estimated only noise.

Acoustic emission from crumpling paper.

From magnetic systems to the crust of the earth, many physical systems that exhibit a multiplicity of metastable states emit pulses with a broad power law distribution in energy. Digital audio recordings reveal that paper being crumpled, which can be easily held in hand, is such a system. Crumpling paper both using the traditional hand method and a cylindrical geometry uncovered a power law dis...

Acoustic Emission Applied to Mechanically Loaded Paper

Acoustic Emission applied to mechanically loaded Paper (AEP) is a current European Union funded Fifth Framework project. The overall objective of this project is to investigate the micro mechanics behind the behaviour of paper under mechanical loading, with a view to enabling the development of new and value added paper products with a better competitive edge in the global market. To achieve th...

Flexural monitoring of carbon fiber/epoxy composite by acoustic emission

Carbon / epoxy composite is one of the most useful polymer matrix composites that has special properties such as high strength-to-weight ratio, high hardness, high corrosion resistance, Resistance to nuclear radiation has high consumption in different industries such as aerospace industry. Therefor monitoring of loading of this type of composite is important. In order to determine failure mecha...

Fracture of Human Femur Tissue Monitored by Acoustic Emission Sensors

The study describes the acoustic emission (AE) activity during human femur tissue fracture. The specimens were fractured in a bending-torsion loading pattern with concurrent monitoring by two AE sensors. The number of recorded signals correlates well with the applied load providing the onset of micro-fracture at approximately one sixth of the maximum load. Furthermore, waveform frequency conten...

Acoustic Emission on Human Femur Tissue Fracture

This study describes the acoustic emission (AE) activity during fracture of human femur tissue under flexural load. The sample is fixed as a cantilever and two AE broadband sensors are placed in different points of the sample, one near the fixing end and the other near the head, where a pin load is applied. The aim is to investigate if AE procedures and indices well established in engineering m...
